Black Friday guide: how to shop smart for phone cases, chargers and other accessories

During Black Friday, prices on most items are slashed, and it’s easy to fill your shopping basket with things that don’t fit or will never be used. This guide goes through what’s worth buying for your mobile, tablet, smartwatch, headphones and computer, what checks you should carry out before ordering, and what you can skip. This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November.

Start here: three things to check before you buy

A discount is no use if the product doesn’t fit. These three things will help you avoid most bad buys.

  1. Exact model. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are different models, and cases, screen protectors and camera covers are made (almost) exclusively for specific models, whilst universal accessories are rare. The model name can be found in the settings: under About phone on Android and under General > About on iPhone and iPad. On an iPad, the model number is also printed on the back.
  2. Connectivity and standards. The iPhone 15 and newer models have USB-C, whilst older iPhones have Lightning. MagSafe is available on the iPhone 12 and later, and Qi2 is supported by an increasing number of phones, including Android devices. Check what your phone supports before choosing a charger, cable and case.
  3. How the products work together. The case should be compatible with the screen protector. A MagSafe-compatible case ensures that magnetic chargers, power banks and car mounts stay securely in place. The charging speed is determined by the weakest link: the charger, the cable or the phone. This is where most buying mistakes occur. Similarly, you should ensure that the case you’re interested in is compatible with your screen protector.

What’s worth buying for your device?

Here’s a breakdown by device. Each section discusses what’s worth buying and what you should check.

Mobile phone

For mobile phones, there are four groups of accessories that are often bought together: protection, charging, grip and holders.

Cases. Most drops happen on the corners, so reinforced corners and a raised rim around the screen and camera make the biggest difference. If you’re careful, a thin case is enough to protect against scratches and minor knocks; if you want to combine protecting your phone with storage, you should instead look at our wallet cases. If you want to charge wirelessly, you should invest in a MagSafe- or Qi-compatible case with a built-in magnetic ring that allows chargers, power banks, car mounts and card holders to attach without you having to remove the case.

Screen protectors. Tempered glass offers the best protection against scratches and knocks. Thin protective films are cheaper but less durable. Choose a screen protector designed for your exact model and one that’s case-compatible, so the edges don’t lift when the case is fitted. You can find out more about the differences in Your guide to buying the best screen protector.

Charging. For wireless charging, there are MagSafe-compatible chargers and Qi chargers; for wired charging, there are wall chargers, USB-C cables and Lightning cables. Choose a wall charger that can handle at least as much power as your phone can accept, and a cable that can handle the same power. A charger with a higher power rating than this is not necessary: the phone will never charge faster than it is designed to. The basics can be found in Which charger do I need for my device?

Grips and holders. Choose according to how you use your phone:

  • PopSockets and phone grips and ring holders provide a more secure grip for one-handed use.
  • Kickstands fold out from the back and are ideal for watching films and making video calls.
  • Tabletop phone stands keep your phone steady on your desk or kitchen worktop.

Xiaomi cases Nothing cases

Tablet

Tablets primarily need protection and a good stand. Different iPads, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Lenovo Tabs and other tablet models have different dimensions, so check the model number before choosing.

  • Cases or covers: choose one designed for your exact model. Cases with a stand are ideal for watching films and reading, whilst cases with a keyboard or keyboard attachment are ideal for typing. We cover materials and levels of protection in How to choose a case for your iPad and tablets. See the range under tablet cases and covers.
  • Screen protectors: protect the glass from scratches when the tablet is in your bag or being used by children.
  • Tablet stands: a desk stand frees up your hands whilst reading, video calling and cooking.

Lenovo Tab cases Kindle cases

Smartwatch

Smartwatches have their own range of accessories: straps, chargers, cases and screen protectors. Investing in a new accessory for your smartwatch ensures it sits securely on your wrist, whilst also allowing you to better customise the watch to suit the occasion and your outfit.

  • Spare straps: an extra watch strap in a different material, such as silicone for exercise and leather or metal for work. Check the width and fastening, as the same brand may have several different systems.
  • Extra charger: a charger or adapter for your smartwatch by your bed or at work means you don’t have to move the cable.
  • Screen protector: a screen protector is inexpensive and protects against everyday scratches.

Car and bicycle

For your car, there are car chargers and car phone holders. Holders are available for the air vent, the dashboard or the windscreen, as well as magnetic holders. Magnetic holders work best with an iPhone and/or Android device with MagSafe or Qi compatibility, or with a compatible case. Bike mounts & holders are most relevant in the spring, but Black Friday is a good opportunity to buy them in advance.

How to shop depending on your situation

If you’re planning to change your phone or have just done so

Cases and screen protectors aren’t included with a new phone, as they’re made for a specific model. Phones that look similar may have different dimensions for the camera, buttons and screen. This applies just as much to new models such as the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S26, or OnePlus 15 as it does to all other brands, models and generations.

Other accessories are often included:

  • MagSafe-compatible chargers, magnetic power banks and mounts work with any iPhone featuring MagSafe, i.e. iPhone 12 and later.
  • Charging cables are compatible if the connector is the same. If you’re switching from an iPhone 14 or older to a newer iPhone, you’ll need USB-C cables, as newer models have USB-C.
  • Cases and screen protectors will need to be bought new.

If you’re sure of the model, you can order the accessories before the phone arrives. Buy cases, screen protectors and any new cables in the same order, and the discount increases with every product you actually need.

For those buying Christmas presents

Accessories make great Christmas presents, but they fall into two categories:

  • Universal accessories require no model check. These include power banks, wall chargers, USB-C cables and desk stands.
  • Model-specific accessories such as cases, screen protectors and watch straps require you to know exactly which device the recipient has.

Find out the model without giving the gift away: check the settings when the device is out in the open, or take a photo of the back. If you need help or are unsure, you can always contact our customer service team, who will be more than happy to assist you further.

For those going on a trip

  • Power bank: a 10,000 mAh power bank is sufficient for most trips and will charge a standard phone about one to two times, as some energy is always lost in the process. Choose a MagSafe power bank if you have an iPhone with MagSafe. Power banks should be carried in your hand luggage, not in your checked-in luggage.
  • Multi-port wall charger: charges your phone, headphones and watch from the same socket in your hotel room.
  • Short cable: takes up less space and causes less tangling in your bag.

Put together a basket you’ll actually use

The discount increases with the number of products. Here are five baskets where each product has a specific purpose:

  • New phone bundle (three products, 10% discount): case, screen protector and a new charging cable.
  • Charging station (three products, 10% discount): wireless charger, wall charger and USB-C cable.
  • Travel pack (three products, 10% discount): power bank, short cable and multi-port wall charger.
  • Home office (four or more, 20% discount): laptop stand, USB hub, HDMI cable and a phone or tablet stand.
  • Smartwatch (two products, 5% discount): a spare strap and an extra charger.

Don’t buy more products than you’ll actually use. A bigger discount on something you don’t need is still an unnecessary expense. If you order for over €29, we’ll cover the delivery costs.

What you can skip

  • Cases and screen protectors for a phone you’ll soon be replacing. They won’t fit the next model.
  • More power than the device needs. A 65 W charger won’t make a phone charge any faster if the phone only supports 25 W.
  • A power bank that’s too big. A 20,000 mAh one is heavy to carry. If you only need emergency charging, a small one will do.
  • Extra items just to reach the next discount tier.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. However, our campaign runs throughout November, from the first to the last.

How does the discount work?

The discount is volume-based, which means the more items you buy, the bigger the discount you’ll get. Find what you’re looking for, add it to your basket, and use the discount code that matches the number of products at checkout.

Are all products included in the offer?

Yes, all products on our website are included in the offer.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free on orders over €29.

Will my old case fit my new phone?

Usually not. Cases are made for a specific model, and phones that look similar may have different dimensions for the camera, buttons and screen. Choose a case that specifies your model name.

Which wireless charger should I choose: MagSafe, Qi or Qi2?

MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic charging system for the iPhone 12 and later. Qi is a universal standard without magnets, where the phone must be positioned correctly on the charger. Qi2 is a newer standard with magnets, much like MagSafe, which is supported by an increasing number of phones, including Android models. Phones without built-in magnets require a magnetic case for a magnetic charger to sit securely.

Can I use a screen protector with a case?

Yes. Choose a case-friendly screen protector so that the edges don’t lift when the case is on.

How big a power bank do I need?

For everyday use and most trips, 10,000 mAh is sufficient, which provides roughly one to two phone charges.

Can I take a power bank on a flight?

Yes, in your hand luggage. It must not be placed in checked-in luggage. Most mobile power banks are well below 100 Wh, which is the limit without special approval from the airline.
