Do you need a case for Ulefone RugKing 2 Pro?
It may sound illogical to buy a cover for a phone that’s already built to military standards (MIL-STD-810H) and is completely dust- and water-resistant (IP68/IP69K). The answer lies in day-to-day ergonomics and your external working environment.
- Maximised grip and kinetic energy: A device weighing 253.7 grams builds up enormous kinetic energy if it falls. Even though the phone’s chassis can withstand the impact, you’ll want to avoid dropping it on your foot, in a toolbox or onto fragile materials. A cover made from textured TPU or silicone provides the friction needed to keep the phone firmly and securely in your hand, whatever the weather.
- Smart carrying solutions for bulky devices: As the phone is almost 1.6 cm thick, it significantly restricts your mobility if carried in a standard trouser pocket. For this model, we strongly recommend our tactical cases with built-in belt clips (holsters) or covers with integrated carabiner attachments. Do I really need a screen protector when the phone can withstand drops from two metres?
Yes. The chassis is designed to survive high drops and impacts, but the screen is made of Gorilla Glass 3. This glass is highly susceptible to microscopic scratches from sand, mud or stone dust – elements that are ever-present in extreme environments. A screen protector absorbs this wear and tear and keeps the original display in mint condition.
What’s the easiest way to carry such a bulky phone during a shift?
Weighing almost 254 grams and with a thickness of 15.7 mm, a trouser pocket is rarely the best option. We recommend choosing a cover designed for a carabiner or a tactical case with a belt clip.
