It may sound illogical to cover a mobile that’s already MIL-STD-810H-certified and fully waterproof (IP68/IP69K). The answer lies in ergonomics and the external environment.
- Kinetic energy and friction: A device weighing nearly 300 grams builds up significant kinetic energy when dropped. Even if the phone survives, you’ll want to avoid it bouncing into sensitive equipment or injuring your foot. A silicone or TPU cover acts as a brake pad, maximising friction against tables, dashboards and your own hands.
- Screen protection against quartz and grit: The RugKing 3 Pro is fitted with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Although this glass withstands impacts relatively well, it is highly susceptible to microscopic grains of sand and abrasive dust often found in a tradesperson’s pockets. A tempered glass screen protector is therefore an absolute must to keep the 120Hz screen scratch-free.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the phone’s “Gloves Mode” if I have a screen protector?
Yes, absolutely. The phone’s built-in Gloves Mode increases the screen’s touch sensitivity so much that your commands are registered flawlessly through both plastic films and thicker tempered glass screen protectors, no matter how thick your work gloves are.
Won’t the phone be too bulky with a cover?
The Ulefone RugKing 3 Pro is already a substantial phone (12.9 mm). We therefore recommend slim, textured silicone or TPU covers that add minimal bulk but provide maximum grip. If you prefer not to carry your phone in your pocket at all, a belt holster is the best solution.
Will the case get in the way of my charging dock?
If you regularly use Ulefone’s desktop charging dock, we recommend a soft silicone cover. You can quickly slide the phone out before placing it in the dock, unlike harder covers with built-in frames, which take longer to put on and take off.
