What are touchscreen gloves?

Touchscreen gloves are winter gloves that allow you to interact with your phone without having to take them off. You've probably experienced it yourself: you're outside in the winter when someone calls or sends you a message, but with gloves on your hands it's impossible to press the phone's touchscreen. It's the same problem that arises when you want to quickly take a picture, change a song, or get your bus ticket.

How do touchscreen gloves work?

You may never have thought about it, but the screen of your phone reacts to the static electricity produced by your skin. When you tap your screen, it registers where your finger is, and responds based on that. This is why your phone's screen goes out when you hold it to your ear: so you don't accidentally touch the screen with the skin on your cheek. 

However, a barrier between your screen and your skin, such as a pair of gloves, prevents this transfer of static electricity, and you cannot use your mobile phone.
